78 people are missing, 10 people have died, tomorrow’s high tide combined with the torrential deluge has Australia’s third largest city bracing itself.
A ‘once-in-100-years’ occurrence, the flood waters are rising and the Wivenhoe dam is close to 190% full. The barrage of water from Toowoomba has to head somewhere and the only way is towards Wivenhoe’s mighty wall.
I am flying to Brisbane tomorrow and will be reporting from the disaster zone. Updates will be coming thick and fast.
Hey Daisy. I hope you are okay! My cousin and his wife are living in Brisbane and they have been evacuated. They are now refugees! Max
Thanks Max! I’m fine thanks – busy wringing out stories from the disaster zone. All safe here though x
